E&J looks at the entire car when I bring it in. If they find something of which I was not aware I get a phone call to discuss the seriousness of the potential repair; how much it would cost; and whether or not I want it done.

My uncle is head of one of the largest service centers in my hometown. We recently purchased our home in Portage Park and so thankful to have found this service center. The owner and his manager are so professional and the work done is excellent. We will return for many years.

I have lived in the neighborhood over 20 years and have passed this place a 1000 times and was curious. I have always well maintained my vehicles but since I was going on a long road trip and I suspected my front brakes needed work, I wanted an inspection and tune-up done. I assumed this was an old school mechanic shop but instead was greeted in a professional and courteous manner. The technology was up to date. I was sent updates along with pics of each inspection made. At the end the car passed inspection BUT yes I needed my front brakes worked on and an air filter. Great experience, would recommend to anyone .

E&J Auto Service is a great place to get your car serviced on the Northwest side of Chicago. The shop is spotless. The staff is friendly and professional. They do fair and honest work. I needed some work done to my 12 year old car. The manager called me and gave me his opinion on what needed to be done right away and what could wait. The car was ready when they said it would be - they even washed it! A couple of weeks later, I received a thank you card in the mail, with a gift card saying lunch was on them! That is unheard of anymore! I would highly recommend them!

I was having issues with my A/C blowing hot air and went to the dealer. After 6 hours and $160 in they said I need a compressor that will be $1250 W/Labor. I wanted a second look so gave this shop a try and WOW! Great friendly service and explained every process in detail. So the end results? It was not my compressor and was just a leak from the hose connecting to it. I paid only a small fraction from what the dealership quoted. Best and honest shop in the area, highly recommend!
